Carers Worldwide develops and promotes cost effective, sustainable and easily replicable methods of providing support to carers in low and middle income countries. Since 2012, our work has impacted the lives of over 3,500 carers in Nepal and India.
Our vision is a world in which the needs of every carer are routinely met in order to achieve their physical, emotional, economic and social wellbeing.
Our mission is to enable carers, service providers, policy makers and other stakeholders to recognise and respond to the needs of carers in the developing world, ensuring balance and equal value is given to the needs of the carer and the person receiving care.
We are the only organisation working exclusively and strategically with unpaid family carers in the developing world.
We take a unique approach working in partnership with carers, cared-for, families, communities, local NGOs, national and international NGOs, governments and academics.
More details of our strategy and aims can be found in our Strategic Plan for 2014 – 2016.
In my opinion, caregivers are an invisible community, sometimes even invisible to themselves…this is the first thing that has to change.
